Abstract

In the universities' educational system to enhance the quality of training and determine its strengths and weaknesses, a student monitoring system is necessary. The current study was conducted to determine the relation between pre-internship exam average scores and the basic sciences in Jondishapur University accepted in 2010-2011. The study was an analytical-cross sectional study with 137 subjects from the medical interns selected by the census sampling method. A checklist and researcher completed data. Then, the data were analyzed by SPSS20 software. There was no significant relationship between the gender, marital status, pre-internship test scores, and the basic sciences test scores in the student's acceptance year) P > 0.05(. However, there was a significant relationship between the student's ages and residence situation and their acceptance year (P < 0.05(Also, there was a significant relationship between the student's pre-internship test scores and the basic sciences test scores in 2011. )P < 0.05(. The Pearson correlation test was 0/542 between the basic sciences and the pre-internship scores, indicating a positive relationship between two scores. There was a significant relationship between the student's pre-internship test scores and the basic sciences test scores at 2010) P < 0.05(. Finally, we found predicting the pre-internship test scores at 0/398 (basic sciences test scores) + 7/941. The study results showed that the basic sciences test could be a good predictor of determining students' success in their later educational stages. Accordingly, we must consider the appropriate facilities and tools to encourage students to learn scientific and practical skills
